The play tells the story of Viola Desmond, who in 1946 was a black woman who refused to leave a whites-only section of the Roseland Theatre in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. Desmond was dragged out of her seat by two white police officers and forcibly removed from the theatre.
The play is an emotional and inspiring story about the power of one person to stand up for their rights.
New Year's Levee

INFORMATION: The New Year's Levee is a tradition that dates back to the 1800s. The tradition has been carried on for over 200 years and continues today. The Levee will be held at the Eldon House which is located at 481 Ridout Street North in London, Ontario.
The event will take place on January 1st between 1-4 pm. There will be refreshments, music, and a toast to ring in the new year!
