What is Legacy Village?
The Legacy Village project will be a new mixed residential development in London, Ontario, Canada. The project will preserve the historic buildings and green spaces, as well as create new housing and commercial developments that reflect the City’s growth and heritage.
What Legacy Village Offers Residents
Legacy Village is envisioned as a vibrant new home for more than 10,000 Londoners seeking a green and enjoyable way of life. This development is still in its planning stages but it's already gaining recognition for its unique design and amenities. The location will have communal gardens, walking trails and paths, acres of park land and long winding roads.
We are also delighted to share that the Humane Society London & Middlesex now has a new home at Legacy Village: The Old Oak Animal Campus is an awe-inspiring haven for current and future pet owners. It provides a wide range of services, such as training classes, a pet café and even a low-cost medical centre! It's amazing how much care and support this facility provides for our beloved animals.
Keeping History Alive
Old Oak Properties has a long history of preserving and honoring London's rich cultural heritage. The Legacy Village location is home to many historic sites, such as the Infirmary building, the Chapel of Hope, the Recreation Hall, and the Horse Stables. Back in the late 1800s, Henry Landor had a vision of using the hospital grounds as a farm, with the intent that patients would be involved in farming produce as a therapeutic activity, and that it would provide a large green space for communal play. Old Oak will maintain its vision with Legacy Village, providing communal gardens and large green spaces for the city to enjoy.
Rapid Transit: East London Link
The East London Link is going to change the way Londoners commute. The project will revitalize over 6 km of road from Downtown to Fanshawe College, adding transit links, rapid transit and transportation improvements in one of the most congested areas of the city.
